What sweetens it, and why we tell you

Most "sugar free" sweets in Pakistan won't tell you what's actually inside. We will.

Our sohan halwa is sweetened with sorbitol, a sugar alcohol. It brings the sweetness and also helps hold the halwa together, which is why it keeps its proper bite and texture instead of turning dry or crumbly.

No added sugar is not the same as sugar free. Milk and wheat carry their own natural sugars.

A note on portions: sorbitol is best enjoyed in moderate servings. We recommend a small piece at a time. Larger amounts in one sitting can sit heavily.
