Best Mithai to Send or Carry Abroad from Pakistan

Many of our customers live abroad and want to send a taste of home to family in Pakistan, or carry mithai with them when they visit family overseas. Here's what to know before you order.

What travels well

Dense, drier sweets hold up best over a few days of travel:

  • Sohan halwa (Dry Fruit or Akhroti) is naturally firm and travels well.
  • Dates, such as Ajwa or Mabroom, are sturdy and keep for weeks.
  • Gajjak is dry and holds its shape.

Softer sweets like Pan Pera or Coconut Sweet Dream Balls are best enjoyed fresh and are a better choice when you're gifting locally rather than carrying them on a long trip.

Sending as a gift to Pakistan, from abroad

You don't need to be in Pakistan to send a Fruitofy order. Place the order with the recipient's name, address and phone number, and add a note with your message in the order instructions at checkout. We deliver free, with cash on delivery available for the recipient, or you can pay online yourself.

Carrying mithai when you travel

If you're flying and want to carry sweets in your luggage:

  • Choose drier items like sohan halwa or dates over anything with a loose syrup or soft filling.
  • Pack them in your checked luggage in their sealed box, rather than hand luggage, to avoid any liquid or gel restrictions.
  • Check your destination country's customs rules on bringing in dairy or nut-based food, as these vary by country.

Timing your order

If you're sending a gift ahead of a visit or an occasion, order a few days early. Delivery across Pakistan usually takes 2 to 5 working days, and a little longer during peak seasons.

One of our customers ordered from the UK as a gift for relatives in Pakistan and told us it arrived in great condition and was loved by everyone who received it.

Browse sohan halwa and dates, our two best options for sending abroad or carrying on a trip.
